Default Bubbling, cracking roof section

So i'm sure everybody has gone through this and if not, you are indeed the lucky few...

The bubbling effect that many may see ruining the rear roof portion of the f-body is nothing new. But how is one to fix this? Why does this even HAPPEN? Jesus creeping God what can I do?

I'm aware that people are trying to fix things through dealers, but my car is a '99 with over 80k on the odometer. I'm something like the fourth owner - I seriously doubt I have any shred of hope taking it into a dealer for this.

Is the only solution replacing the entire section or can it be simply repainted?

The whole section needs to be replaced. The glue that holds it on there is causing the bubbles. If you repaint it, the bubbles WILL come back.

Holy God, man like I have the money for that. Do you have any idea, roughly, what that would cost?
