A bit of a transformation detail... (Pic intensive)
I did a detail on a 1997 Ford Explorer about a week or two ago for a friend on the board here. This was possibly one of the dirtiest cars I have done. You can't quite tell from the pics (and I wish I had pictures of the interior and door jambs) but there was dirt everywhere. There was mud in the door jambs and the entire interior was covered with a layer of dirt (not dust) as this was used and abused as a "thing to haul stuff with". The detail entailed:
exterior:
wash
claybar
wash again to get claybar stuff off
wash again to get mud out of door jambs and crevices
one pass with menzerna final polish 2, orange pad, and pc speed of 5.5
finished off with a coat of meguiar's #26 wax with red pad and speed of 2.5
clean/dress wheels/tires
interior:
vacuum (no need to worry about shampooing the carpets as they are going to stay dirty with this work vehicle)
remove layers of dirt via wet towels, windex, goo gone, etc.
clean/condition the leather
meguiar's natural shine interior
windows, etc, all other minor stuff
It took about 8-9 hours total, but I was pleased with the results.
Exterior Before (I wish I had remembered to take interior pics ):
Paint Before:
Clay Bar after only one panel of the truck:
Paint After:

Just waitin on your OK, Ralls
Thanks for the compliments guys. I really appreciate it. I posted up in the eastern member section a while back and offered a reduced price for everyone that no one really took up. I guess they didn't know what they were missing

came out great. Sometimes I like a ride thats been beaten up a little bit but never detailed before. They always come out much better than where you began. Guys that keep their cars pretty clean with only a few minor issues aren't as fulfilling but obviously more easy to work with.
