"Logo" etching on driver/pass. glass???
Hey guys,
First off, yeah I'm a newb, but I've inspected every Z28 I could find on the road in Houston, and I have yet to find one with the same glass etching that mine has. On the driver and passenger side windows, there is a fancy pinstriping that runs along the base of the glass that has the "Z28" logo highlighted in the middle of the design. It's actually etched into the glass, not a vinyl decal. It's badass looking IMO, and everyone who's seen my car has commented on it. Anyone else out there have this design, or know if the previous owner apparently had this custom-etched? TIA fellaz!

Man I dunno, I bought the car from a dealership's certified used car lot, and have no contact with previous owners. Carfax indicates I'm the 3rd owner. If you rub your fingernail over it, it's like.. "rough"...etched is the only way I can describe it. When it's wet it's invisible, and when the glass dries it shows back up bright as day, it's cool :-)

Just a guess, but it could have been done with, i'm not sure what to call it, but it looks like an airbrush. And you load sand into the gravity feed cup, and mask off the glasss expsosing what you want etched. Then you just kinda sandblast the glass with super fine sand, and you could actually get shading with it depending how much you spray it.

Bandit is the first person I've heard of to say they have the same thing. Very interesting, considering both our cars are from Houston. Must have been a dealership thing, perhaps our cars originally came from the same dealership?

My car has the same etching to but with trans am. I thought mine was the only one too. I bought it in Dallas, TX. The intresting part is that my car started on a lot from Houston too. This is the lot it was from.

There is a guy on here that can look up dealership info. Name is joshp14. Search for him. You just have to give him your last 8 vin numbers. He might take a while to get back with you.
