Default VHT niteshade came out dull/ flat looking

OK I just niteshaded my taillights, and they came out flat, and not glossy at all. I held the can pretty far away from the lights, like it said on the can. Do i need to hold the can a lot closer on my next coat to bring out the shine, or just clear coat the **** out of it?

clear coat and it doesnt take that much. Lay it on to thick and you get bubbles and lose the sheen

More thin coats are much better then a few heavy ones, be patient. And clear will definitely help

Yep, just shoot some thin coats of clear on there & call it good.

I just bought some black halo's and wanted to get some VHT Niteshades to do the rest of the lights.

I'm going to try and do a few light coats followed by clear.

You can also wet sand with some 3000 grit then buff out with a high speed buffer and some polishing compound.
