Default Rubber Sticking to Paint

What can i put on my car before i go to the track and spin rubber all over the side of my car? The rubber is a real pain to get off when i get back from the track. Is there something i can put on the car before i go or is there something i can use that will take it off when i get back?

3m makes a clear plasic you can stick on you car comes in a roll but i dont know how easy you can take it off and not have to clean up the glue residue.

wonder if anyone makes a static you could put on it???

I've heard wd-40. An old roommate of mine coated wax on the rear wheel wells and bumper of his TA...another used cooking spray. A lot of guys use blue painters tape.

Yep, blue/green painter's tape would be a cheap and easy option.

I have never had problems with rubber not coming off. But then again, it has 50 coats of Zaino on it LOL

Every car show I've ever been to (quite a few), the street rods that also drag race have all had green/blue painter's tape on the quarter panels. i guess since it's so popular to use, it must work!

Theres a company that makes a "burnout guard spray" that sells for like $10 a bottle, and its supposed to make rubber come off with water...they have it at afterthoughtsauto.com... here's the link: http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/burnoutguard.html

Well im not to worried about the inside of the wheel wells as much as the rubber getting on the paint on the side of the car.......... that tar is a bitch betting off. The rubber on the inside of the wells will come right off when i rub my hands across it after it dries. I think the tape would be very ugly on the side of the car! lol. I might try the wd-40 thing.

I'm with him. I would think there would be some kind of film that would stick to the car with static and when you leave the track, just peal it off. Might check into getting a piece of vinyl from a place that makes vinyl signs--like what they stick on city buses with advertisements on them--and tell them you want it plain and what color.
