Pretty much exactly what havok said, just make sure you sand it first, I did it to mine and then stuck a billet grill over it so the paint color doesn't show through, very simple.

^^no, check out my stock painted grille. its been painted for a year now, seen rain and hot sun, plus some bending during install...no problems at all....its holding up better than the front bumper itself...

Did you have yours painted somewhere?

What would you do, sand it lightly then hit it with some semigloss/gloss black and maybe some clear?

just had it sanded smooth to get rid of that texture stuff, and then cleaned it really good. After that just painted the maroon all over it. Then lined up the stripes, covered the maroon, and painted the black, removed all the tape, sprayed several coats of clear, let it dry, thats it....

That looks better than any aftermarket grill I've seen. I plan on doing mine this spring. Did you yank the grill off to paint it or did you take the bumper off to remove it?

I think that you mean satin black like the berger. Here is a pic of mine. I just got done doing it a couple of days ago. I matched the paint and emblems with the berger panel.

Sorry you can't tell much because it is cloudy out but it really stands out nice on a sunny day.

Thanks!
I just yanked it off......taking off the bumper is just too much....keep in mind, once you put it back on the pins in the rear wont be attached....it still stays on the car just fine

Other than the pins in the rear it just snaps back in with no problem? Sweet!

I took mine off, filled it in and had it re-sprayed. But I put my grill back on.
