Dash Pad crack fix/mod idea.
alright, so i know everybody I've ever heard of with a camaro or firebird has had problems with the dash cracking. along with myself.
so today i couldn't handle the hideousness of the cracked up piece of plastic in plain view when driving, so i decided to just take it out.., when i took it out i ended up counting the pieces and it's in 10 pieces. i don't want to spend 150 dollars on another crappy piece of plastic, so i've decided.. i'll just fix the cracked up one i have now.
I've decided to go ahead and glue the peices back together first, and for reinforcement i', going to cover the back/inside of it with fiberglass cloth, and resin, to really keep it together. then i plan on covering it with charcoal vinyl to cover all the ugly roughed up part from the initial glue...
think it would work, lets hear some inputs?...

I made a temporary vent cover with holes for the winter until I had time to do it right.
I'm gonna pull it back out and put a couple more layers of fiberglass and do small strips much like the factory style.

Here's one option for the vent.. Dash is shorter since it's in a 3rd gen, but same idea applies. Mine was only cracked by the vent when I took it off, but I wound up breaking into 3-4 pieces trying to wrap it. It's now reinforced with fiberglass in the week spots.
