Exclamation How to Remove Hard Water Spots in Paint!!!

I live in a area where the water is really hard. I parked too damn close to some sprinklers a few nights ago and its got half of my car. I washed it down and dried her off and still spots on the clear coat like i never even touched it.

I tried some clay bar liquid applied and buffed and still nothing...I haven't done alot of work to get it off yet, but I have a car show next weekend that I will be in and have to get these spots off before Saturday.

What suggestions of method/products will help me get the spots off before this weekend???

Thanks

Distilled white vinegar will do the trick. You can use it full force or dillute it with water. You can go 50/50. This will not hurt the paint. This may take a couple a tries but it will work. When done rewax area.

I use it on my '07 Chevy Colorado. I always park next to the sprinklers so I always run into this problem.

Since you have a show coming up you might not have time to gather the GOOD stuff... like pads and a good polish, like Menzerna IP.

Try Meguiars ScratchX... you can get it at a local Pepboys or the like. Get some good foam or microfiber applicators and try it out.

Clay bar should do it. I have also heard about using vinigar.

Try Mothers ClayBar Kit, I just did my 02 Conv. for the same reason and it worked great.

Clay bar SHOULD work. If not, then get yourself some Meguiars #83 and a Porter Cable with a yellow cutting pad. That will definately do the trick and won't cause enough heat to burn through your clear!

would liquid clay bar be better since it's only hard water stains, or does it not really mater

For light water spots #83 and a yellow pad would be overkill IMO... and would leave micro marring. I would suggest a orange lake country pad and #80 to start.... maybe even a white pad. If he used #83 and yellow he'd have to follow up with orange/white and #80 anyways..... so might as well try the #80 first.

That "liquid clay bar" is junk. A normal claybar will remove alot of blemishes from your clearcoat.
