Default How to clear up older windows?

I just bought a car that has a driver's side window that is hard to see through. I'm guessing maybe the sun, age (1993 z28), and the elements did the damage to it. My question is, how can I clear it up? Wet-sand and buff it out maybe? Anyone use some compounds to clear it up?

Thanks in advance!

Fine steel wool, I know it may sound wierd but it works. But it HAS to be fine, not coarse.

Just take the steel wool and a lil bucket of soap and water, and basically go through the motions of waxing your window. LOL. Then wipe clean. It can be repeated as necessary.

The supermarket should have it. Oh and as for the soap make sure to use Dawn dish soap, it is the best at cutting the grime, grease, whatever and WILL NOT leave streaks.

And the steel wool should not be the pre-coated soapy kind, just the plain ol' steel wool.

You could try glass polish.

Mine has streaks consistent with wiper motion. The glass doesn't feel gouged, perhaps surface scratch. The streaksare pretty visible, specially when driving. Would the plain, non soapy brillo steel wool pad work for that to? I have considered replacing the glass, if I can get the streaks out, I would prefer that option. Thanks.

I used rubbing compound and a rotary polisher. Still took quite some time, but at least I wasn't sweating my way through it.
