Yank SS3600, about $400-$450 used, that's about the most common one probably seen on here.

tc i believe is one of the best mod you can do for an auto car. a 3600 is usually regarded as a good drivability converter. prices can range from 500 to 1200+ new. and u get what you pay for with converters too.

I see your in Texas, not sure which town. I would check out Circle D in Houston. They make very high quality converters and each are custom made for your car from billet steel.

I went with their multidisk 4C converter. It was $925 but its money well spent for a quality converter with a good lock up clutch.

Hey Greg from FTI Competition Converters here. I would recomend a SRLS0391 wich is a 3600 converter with great drivabilty. This converter will drive like a 2500 but give you the performance you are looking for. The converter is fully furnace brazed, billet lock-up piston, billet front cover, chrome moly impeller hub,5140 turbine splines, tig welded, computer balanced, and run out tested. Our converters come with a three year waranty and have a free stall change. These converters are on sale this month for LS1 Tech users at 675.00 with free freight @ t-shirt to the continental 48 states.Just give me a call if I can help toll free at 1-866-726-8358.

Thanks,
Greg

Street only I'd go a little lower, 3000-3200. And remember, a Vig 3200 is like everybody else's 3600.

Yank has a new 9.5" 3000/2.2 that would be perfect, IMO.

so you think the vig 3200 (3600) will be too big???

i do plan on doing cam, pulley, down the road....

my other question is should i have it installed once i do get it..or wait till i have everything (cam ect.) to have it installed all at once and only worry about having it tuned once.

The bigger the better. I went with a Hayden from Pep boys that is rated for a 32,000 GVW RV. Its big but my trans temps have never been over 180 even in 95+ degree weather while racing it at the track. I would remove the radiator from the loop when you install the tranny cooler too. Make it so the fluid comes out of the trans and goes right to the cooler and then back to the trans.

I have a Yank SS3600 and love it. Although, most of the sponsors here are very reputable. That FTI converter with the sale, free stall, and 3yr warranty does look awful nice...
