Default TH400 tranny shield

I am putting my 2002 trans am convert. back together and i am expecting some serious hp out of the 451 lsx with a F1C procharger. I am really thing of putting a cover / blanket over the trans. What would you use? Also what name brand is a good one? Has anyone used them on a trans am without having to modify anything?

Are you worried about the converter area or the guts of the trans? If its the former, just stick an ultrabell on it. If its the latter, you shouldn't have a problem with the guts flying out unless the trans is downshifted at high RPM.

Former was in reference to the converter, latter was in reference to the internals.

Thanks. Will a trans blanket be better? Has anyone used one? I'm worried about the clearance.

I'm running an Ultrabell and blanket on my Rossler TH350. It doesn't get in the way at all.
