Your current stall is low for the 228, in my opinion. Def will be short with the new cam you are looking at. I would probably go with a 3800-4000.

If you use your car on the street mostly I, PERSONALLY everyone else, would not even change the cam. Order up a 3800-4000 yank, Vig, C-D etc and you will be happier than changing the cam.

I bet it would pull like a biotch.

you could get by with that stall but i think a 36-4000 would be a better combo.

That cam will love a higher stall converter. You could get by with the 2800, but it will not have power down low. The higher stall converter will put you in the power band, make the car an animal. 3600+, might even suggest a 4000. Is this a DD or just a weekend toy?

Question

I have a 228, at 112. What size converter would you recommend with my 4l60?

That car would be a dog with a big cam and that baby stall. Get a 4000+ converter so you can get into the power fast and have better shift extensions.

A friend of mine use to have a 3500 stall and an MS3 and even with that combo it was a dog until the power really started coming on at like 4000-4500.

As others have said. you actualy need more converter with what you have for optimum performance. If it is a DD then 3800-4000. If your intention is to not run the jug. If you were to put the jug to it then 36-3800 with a different stator would be my choice.

that converter should be fine but couldn't hurt to get a higher stall.
