Default Tune required after stall?

Obviously I know when you get a high stall, a tune is required to ensure lockup and proper everyday driving conditions, but I was getting a 3200 stall from Circle D (forgot the 'C' rating, if anyone could tell me, that'd be great.) And I was wondering if I could drive it a few days until I could get a retune. Or possibly just go without one until my next mod that requires it. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Kyle

I don't think you can actually "Tune" for a converter. When I put a stall in my Buick T-Type, I emailed my chip tuner and he said he couldn't actually tune for it. Don't get me wrong, you could probably still get a tune to optimize your performance. Really the only thing that I think is tunable is the lock up speed.

unless it's hitting the rev limiter between shifts or you suddenly don't like the lock up speed anymore, not really much else to 'tune'
You can turn off PWM I guess.

Some cars get away without one others dont , Possibilites without one are limp mode po757. Lockup issues to early is common. Hitting the rev limiter at WOT and or quick shifting at light throttle.

you can search around to see just how bad that gets, but you're probably just going to want to drive it somewhere to get it tuned. if you have another mod coming up in the next few months that will need a tune, it might not hurt to post a new thread in your regional section for a request with someone who knows what they're doing in your area with hptuners or efi live. if you were in my area, i would do it for the cost of the credits used ($100 for hptuners) and a couple bucks for my time. also, consider that some dyno tuners won't charge full price for a stall tune.

You can do a tune when installing aftermarket stall ie: shiftpoints, line pressure, shift extensions, lock up speed, TQ magmt to optimize the benefit of the mod at the same time it will feel like stock during normal driving conditions.

Wow, awesome replys. I will probably just drive it for a while until have a couple bucks to get a retune. I was TQ management put a LITTLE back in, just because my transmission is on the last leg I think, but I should be getting a built 4L60 over summer along with some juice But I will also get PWM eliminated too. I didn't think 3200 was big enough to really worry too much.

Oh, also, what are the opinions on wether or not I should race without having PWM eliminated or any other transmission tuning done? Assuming it behaves as it should.

just put my yank3600 in yesterday, everything is fine with the tune as far as shifts/downshifts/lockup, line pressure could come down some though...tranmission is new and is built up so the pressure bumps I had previously done with tuning are no longer needed

Also, I had all my exhaust welded in, so removing it is a no go. So should I have it cut and flanges welded in so it is removable or is this do-able with the exhaust on the car?

Haha, I'm sorry, but I noticed you have an M6, just thought it was funny. I'm guessing you had an auto before? Just wondering, this was on a 4L60 and not a 700R4 or anything right?
