Curious if anyone has swapped in a 6l80e yet. How do you control the trans?Will it physically fit?
I know TCI has a 4l80e with six speeds modification that will work.I am mostly curious.I put in a built 4l80e in my car but this is someone else that wants to swap in a normal 6l80e and I told him don't think it has been done or can be done.

It can be done, however you have to use the same type PCM that came with the transmission. That's what complicates matters. It's just not as easily controlled as the TCI 6X transmission.

i was just asking my buddy this the other day, could it be done with the Tr6060 as well?

getting a drop out ls3, trans, and harness and it working in an fbody would be amazing!

Speartech makes the electronics for it to work. I was wanting to do this real bad in my GTO but they never got back to me. I said at that point screw it and just put a built 4l65 in it for now.

I think getting it to fit might be an issue. You would need a new pcm for sure. Those 6l80s have their own tune seperate from the motor. You would be better off upgrading to a E67 pcm or something similar. They are about 100 times faster then the junkers in a fbody.
