Its not Rossler or the former "Trinity" and its a non-sponsor....PM for for details.

Also, I need to do some more testing. On that video, I forgot to max out the line pressure (that will make it set faster) and I'm telling the PCM to turn on/off the solenoids, so on a switch it will be even faster....

The release time impresses me.
Do a frame by frame on the vid.
It's commanded on in one frame, and the speedo is at 38 mph on the next frame.

according to hptuners (and commanding thru the solenoids) on my last test its .937 seconds from the time i click the button till the tires lock up at idle (from a 1mph creep). .485 seconds if I stall it up, and .062 seconds from the time I click off the button till the driveshaft moves. I can't wait to get it on a switch.

Nope, yours is a different brake. Yours is designed to work only with a full manual only. Mine is totally different (and locks/releases even faster). Mine works with a manual or an automatic.

Randy,
This is a different transbrake setup entirely than your setup.
It's completely new in concept.
It uses the same principles to operate as a TH400 brake or other offerings for the 4L80E, however it is done without requiring a deep pan. I designed it to work with an electronically controlled 4L80E. Along the way I discovered a method to make it manual as well.

It has VERY fast release times. Better than expected and there is some more "tuning" to be done in the design over the next few weeks before we are able to get the parts finish machined. I think we can make it slightly faster.

So far I'm happy with it. Still some work to do with it.

Randy,
How is the TransGo based VB that I fixed for you working? How is the transbrake?

I don't plan on messing with a reverse pattern design.
Other vendors already have it in full manual and IME the 4L80E VB is very sensitive to deal with when you start making changes to the way the circuitry works.

A reverse pattern design would best be based on a clean sheet design, and that is already in the works by one of the biggest names in transbrakes.

I don't plan to sell the transbrakes to the end user. They will be sold and installed on transmissions built by select vendors so I can control the quality.

jake... how does this compare to the Rossler unit? Besides not needing a deeper pan.

Nice work BTW.

I did a 4L80E for a customer with the regular Ross-Lock a few months ago. We tested it in the test car and I should have video'd the release time.
Let just say we're measuring mine in hundredths, and the Rossler I tested could be measured in full seconds. Probably about 1 full second but it felt like forever.

It is a known issue.

I haven't tested the Pro version, I understand it is much better but still slow compared to the average brake like used on a TH400.

According to a source of mine .06 release time is what a good TH400 brake releases at. Not Griner times, but the better TH400 brakes on the market based on the stock valve body.

I think with this setup, once we test it on an actual button and not using the laptop-PCM-trans to release it, and also once we get inside the transmission and put heavier springs to release the clutches quicker, it will yield even better results.

Could you pm me and let me know what vendors you plan on allowing this trans brake to be used in as I am currently looking to convert my 4l60e to a 4l80e, and would like to have a trans brake that does not require the deep pan. Very nice work btw!

Well works good. Pulled a 2.04 60' with a peak of light under the driverside tire.

Half-assed install (like mine, it was for testing) or a full out install (tear trans down for internal mods)?
