Default have a few questions before i dive into the tranny cooler install

Im going to be mounting my cooler in front of the radiator and will be bypassing the stock cooler per recommendation on this forum. i have a few questions (probably easy, just for reassurance). I will attach a picture of exactly how i will be mounting it.

1. In order to mount the top part of the cooler to secure it will i need to remove my lid and lower air box to access bolts to finish the install or is the bottom bracket going to be enough to hold it in place?

2. Do i just disconnect the lines from the radiator and attach the new hoses on the ends of those to run into the cooler?

3. Does it matter which ends you use for in/out on the cooler?

thanks in advance

1. Guess it depends on how stable it is with just the bottom secured.

2. YES

Easy as pie good job man.

Just for search purposes NO IT DOESN'T MATTER WHICH ENDS YOU USE FOR THE IN/OUT ON THE COOLER.

is there a way to do this without trans fluid spilling out anywhere? Also, is this a good mod for a car that has a lid but otherwise stock?

yes, a little will come out but only whats in the lines. if you unplug it and immediately point the hose up nothing will really come out.

its a good mod because it will only help the car. especially if it still has the stock stall it will keep the temperatures down well.

That's what I thought. My Formula is a DD so it spends a lot of time sitting in Atlanta traffic in the summer with the A/C on, so that might be a good idea. It also still has the stock converter, so that might be a good mod. How much would it cost me and what all would I need? The last time I went to Summit I saw several different coolers there, and I've heard that the stacked-plate design is better.

the cooler i installed is the 70264 and it comes with everything you need and its 60 bucks. cant beat that. the good thing about that cooler is that if you do end up putting a stall in later you can keep that cooler
