Default Building strongest 4L60E possible - need advice

At the track yesterday and 3rd gear started slipping. Trans built 2 years ago with good parts including a 29 element dual cage input sprig assembly and new 3/4 clutch pack.
I thought this build would be fine for a stock motor car that runs low 12s.
Please give me a list of what the strongest parts are available for my next build.
Thanks!

upgrade to a 4l80e, they are able to take more torque and are not too expensive. its an easy swap. I would consider that if you are going to be making more power in the future.

You shouldn't be having the problems you are having at your power level. We have used RPM Transmissions 4L60E transmissions up to 700 rwhp (Mustang Chassis Dyno) without failures. At your power level you should not expect to have problems with a built 4L60E. Bob

There is much more to building a strong 4L60E than throwing better clutches and servos at it. You should be able to beat on yours at that power level for years without issue.

We ran our Circle D Transmissions 4L60E for 2 seasons running high 9s and low 10s and never broke or over shot a shift, then we had them build us powerglide. We also run a Circle D 4L60E level 2 in our 11 second daily driven car that has 2 bracket racing seasons on it without issue. The better transmission builders have their own tricks as well as an over sized 3-4 drum that holds more clutches that have quite a bit more surface area. There's just a lot they do that a basic rebuild doesn't cover . They do cost more, but it costs less in the long run, not to mention the peace of mind it offers.

Spend your money wisely and go with a Circle D Transmissions built 4L60E or an FLT. You will not be dissappointed.

No problem man.

You can go to the link in my sig and there are 4 videos of us making passes. All except the 5.99 1/8 mile pass are with our with our Ultra Strong Circle D 4L60e with a transbrake. The 5.99 pass was with our powerglide and a 445 ci engine. We had to tame the car down with the powerglide after it went on the bumper

Ive dealt with RPM Transmissions, and Performabuilt personally and they both have been great. I havent had a single issue with my Performabuilt Level 2 60e, and 4k stall or my RPM Built Level V T56 (had it since 06) and its been flawless!

what's the upper limit of horsepower and torque you can build a 4L60E to hold for multiple years? What would need to be done above the 450-500 rwhp builds.

Performabuilt level 2 is 700 hp according to their website.

Check out RPM Transmissions at the above link. We have used their Stage V at 700 rwhp. Bob

I honestly don't think you can go wrong with Circle D, Performabuilt, FLT or RPM. Take your pick. Call each one and talk to each one. I like Performabuilts warranty. You can't beat a 1 year warranty and if you buy the converter from them the 2 year warranty with a transmission.

I would look at warranty and call and to speak with each individually and see how they all act and do business.
