4l60e trouble
Well this is a lt1 Trans Am that belongs to my cousin, the problem started after running over a dog. I took it for a test drive and it drives like it has a stall. I was the owner of this car before him and to me it feels like it was a stock converter with 3.42 gears. The problem now is that it goes way up to 3k rpm before shifting into 2nd, since I just drove in the neighborhood I didn't want to go to fast, needles to say I couldnt get it out of 2nd at 40 mph. The fluid looks fine to me, another thing is that it idles high, it can idle at 2k rpm, turn it off and back on and its at like 1k, could this be related? Any suggestions as to what it could be? All help is appreciated.

Thats what it might come down to, we checked all the emmission lines on it and all look good.
Two more questions
Will unplugging the tps do anything to it, like bringing the idle back to normal or something, just to trouble shoot it?
Should a LT1 start with the maf unplugged, we tried it and it doesn't, I could've sworn I did that before.

I'll admit that I don't know enough about the lt1 to answer about the MAF. But I would think that unplugging the tps could help you troubleshoot since if the tps is shot then nothing would change.

Took it for another drive to auto zone to get it scanned, the codes that it gave us was tpa and maf, bought the tps first.
While I drove it over there I got on it, if I get past 3k in first it shifts perfect, when in second it pulls all the way up to 3200 to 3500 rpm and then slips all the way to 5k and wont shift, bad converter?
