Default Yank, PI vigilante and now Circle D

I was about to ask opinions on either Yank ss3600 or PI Vigilante 9.5 single disc 3600, then I read a post on how well people are liking their Circle D's. So i guess i'll add them to the mix.I'm about to purchase a new "built" trans and was gonna upgrade convertors as well while i'm at it.Any thoughts...opinions on which one would be best for a bolt-on car?

I have a bolt-on car and im getting a circle D 2c 3400 stall. Just so you know I didn't just pick Circle D. I did alot of reading and it seems Circle D is all around the best IMO. Plus Chris is always very helpfull and talks to you personally unlike other companies

We have Circle D Specialties converters in all of our cars. My son's SI bolt-on Camaro ran 11.60s with his Circle D 2E converter. My wife's car ran 11.7s with the Circle D 4C when it was just bolt ons. It now run 11.2s with a 2E and a baby cam with 243 heads.

The converter choice will really depend on the cars primary use. I myself like a 3500-3700for a daily driver. The 4C is a great all around converter. Depending on your mods, it should be about a 3600 rpm stall, but you will need a decent tire to get the power to the ground. Those that drag race alot want more stall and many opt to go lower to help keep traction when staying with a street tire.

I'd give Chris a call at 713-895-8834. He'll go over the best options for your set up.

Yea there are many options. I went with a 3600 from FTI and it's worked great with my bolt on car.

I kept Dave on the phone for about 20 minutes and he even threw in a tee for the old lady. My SS4k has been great, it roasts tires at will....a true thing of beauty, its a fun ride

Spinning is ok, but I like the feel of a hard launch better

You have to have a good suspension and good tires to hook a hard hitting converter. Of course, my car is relative stock suspension so that's not helping. A decent stall will light street tires the **** up

Thats why I almost wish I wuld have gotten the 3200 stall instead of the 3400. I don't know if my 275 nitto dr's will hook or not. Nitto's usually hook on the street better than the track though

My 3200 used to light em up pretty good, Nittos included. But it wasn't near as nasty as the SS4k, I would imagine it would lift the front wheels a few inches if it hooked properly. The 3200 would not lift tires, even though during the one/only track outing it hooked, it cut a best of 1.69 60ft, which is respectable. It was an Edge btw. It was hard getting the Nittos to stick it.
