A,B, & D! Out of the ones you mentioned I like the top two. FTI is another one to look at. Vince

I just ordered a yank but I didnt vote because I dont have it installed yet. All I can say is they seem to have a very good rep for their converters and very informative on their website. As someone whos never had a stall I found it very conveinant that lots of info and testing is always being done with their converters. So I went with a ss3600. Dave at yank said it would be the best all around tc for my 3.23 car which is mostly a street car w/ track just a couple times a year. Very nice driving around town but will haul ***. Also its a plus to me that its suposed to be 96% efficient for highway racing. The higher shift extention should be more than enough to cover that 4% loss in power on the big end

i have had two vig converters a 3200 and a 3600 stall. i had no problems with them except the are pretty loose. I just ordered a circle d converter that will better match my setup.

You can't go wrong with Circle D, FTI, or Ultimate Converter Concepts. I'm sure there are some other good ones but I have experience with the ones I mentioned. I would contact all of them and make the decision based on what each one had to say and what you feel is the best match for your combination. I just bought a Circle D converter last week.

I notice you Rep PTC quite a bit...

Are you running their non billet TC?

Have you had a Yank or One of the other well known converters?

Your cars always run well so I'm interested in more of your input on the subject...

I was looking at their converters because of you but shied away since I noticed no billet cover which is why other options seem to be better.

Is this option worth the upgrade or just for peace of mind? When is a billet converter really necessary?

Sorry for all the questions but I like to study the **** out of mods before I spend my hard earned money

Neil and Marty Chance are both very helpful and great to do business with. They also happen to make awesome converters.

Yes sir I do.. They make an amazing converter.

I have a billet, buddy has a non billet. As far as performance there is no difference. Billet offer a peace of mind for higher HP apps.

I have had ptc, vig, tci personally. I have been in 3 different yank cars.

They make a billet and a non billet converter, all companies I know worth anything offer a billet cover. I would say anything over 600hp in mandatory. Under that it is up to you.. for a normal heads cam car you should be ok with their non billet.

Yank and circle d both are amazing companies.. both will get the job done. They are sponsors so they should always get a look. But from my experience and research on converters ptc makes a harder hitting converter that is as efficient as yank on the big end. They flash right where thy should on average.. yank is usually a little tight and vig a little loose. Same for around town.

I highly doubt I will own another converter besides ptc. If it isn't a sponsor on this site it doesnt get much recognition, holds true for converters more than anything. You want the low down on ptc shoot over to yellowbullet.
Hope that answered your post

Thanks that's what I was looking for.

Honestly I read numerous threads before making a choice. Since it is common for people to give advice based on something they've read but haven't experienced and pass it off as 100% truth...

Luckily I know to read on a subject thoroughly. I just wish others did as well...

The only thing in the near future is a built auto, 3.73s and a stall. A cam might be possible but I doubt it.

Once I finish paying off these last few bills I'm going to give either Xtreme Trans or FLT a call...

Thanks again for the info. Any gauge vids or racing videos?

OP sorry if I high jacked your thread...

Yea. I had a buddy with a Ss4000 and MS4 that I wasn't too impressed with but his tune wasn't spot on either

I was leaning towards the Circle D, PT3800 before I started hearing about the PTC converters from you

Unfortunately in my neck of the woods all you can get are roll races for the most part so I'm looking for a good all around TC that I would be spraying a 100 shot on

Over the years we have used everything. We have had the least problems with Precision Industries Vigalante and Coan. They are who we use exclusively.

Google "red neck torque converters." Never tried one but I hear lots of good stuff about them. Our low 8's Camaro has a Coan, it's been beat up a lot and still hangs together. It rolled the sprag a few years back but that's about it.
