Default dam 2002 4l60e

My problems started when the lugs on the reverse drum became flared and ate into my transmission case. I then purchased a rebuilt tranny and installed my old valve body with shift kit and servo on it. Then installed transmission and test drove; it did shift 1-2-3 but no 4th gear or lock up. Turned around and headed home and only shifted 1-2 no 3-4. Spoke to guy that built transmission and he had me check servo seals and they looked good. I pulled the transmission out and took it to the builder for him to look at he goes ahead and opens transmission and shows me the clutches and the band were in good shape so we agree on replacing the valve body with a new one and installing a new shift kit I take it home and install it and what do you know I only got 1-2 no 3-4 So I drop the pan and replace shift solenoids, epc, manifold pressure sensor, new wire harnes , separator plate and 3-4 accumalator piston put back together and now I still no 3-4 gears Drop again and replace input drum and reinstall and same thing. I try unplugging electrical connection and it moves in what I believe to be third gear. Frustrated and wits end. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it may be??? I have tried different pcms and have run hp tuners and have tried to command 3-4 with no luck but it will lock up if commanded. thanx in advance

Let me get this straight. You currently do not have 3rd or 4th gear? But originally had 1st, 2nd and 3rd? Is this correct?

What servo do you have? and why did you replace the input drum when the trans guy was just in there and said all was ok?

Sounds like a huge leak in the 3rd gear circuit if I had to guess. Make sure that the 3rd accumulator check ball capsule in the case is good and seals. Also there is a valve for the 3-2 solenoid that has a spring behind it that likes to break. I guess its possible that you could have an issue there as well. Being that you had a builder in this thing twice with the same issue I would be looking for leak in the system. Vince

If you had hp tuners connected to it you can check the vss and tps. Monitoring tps would have saved you some money.

i had a complete intake from a swap i had done so i hijacked the tps off it . well today i went out on a limb and swapped my tranny into my brothers truck , guess what ! no worky !!!! builder says he wants to try another drum , he's not touching the tranny again i'd rather be out the money and fix it myself . what pissed me off is that he said he 's losing money working on my trans ,i said **** i'am out of more money and have a pos tranny that not 100% rant over . i will be getting a case and swapping over my stuff and replacing the 3-4 clucthes and steels . if any of you have any pointers i'am listening.
thanx everyone for reading and comments

Sorry to hear about your bad luck but at least you narrowed it down to the trans.

Question though: No offense, but have you ever rebuilt a trans before? If a guy who does it professionally can't figure it out I would be concerned that you will chase your tail as well if you aren't very familiar with the 60E. It seems to me like it isn't a simple fix and I would put it in the hands of someone who really knows these transmissions.

Find the problem. Swapping internals out of a transmission that doesn't work isn't going to result in anything but a transmission with the same problem and a different case.

Tear your transmission down and find the problem or replace the entire thing.
