Default Whats everyone using for a trans mount?

Should of replaced mine when I did the stall. I am now hearing and feeling banging under the car at hard WOT shifts. Maybe like the trans moves or something. What is everyone using for mounts? Can I just get a stock one from AZ or will I just keep breaking those?

Also do you think its a good idea to replace the torque arm bushing?

Hopefully you didn't bust the threads out of the tailshaft where the mount goes in. You definitely should step up to a relocation crossmember or tunnel brace mounted torque arm. Energy suspension makes a good transmission mount but it will do you no good if your launching your car with the torque arm still on the tailshaft because it likes to rip the bolts out of the tailshaft or worse.

Me personally I'd buy a replacement LS mount. The LT1 mounts will work but they are pieces of ****. The LS mount is around $100 IIRC. LT1 mount is $10.

AZ around my area says they have 98s in stock and are like 15 bucks. Its probly the same mount as LT1 though.
I wonder how long it will last

I have literally seen them break on stock cars at a rate of one every 6 months or less.

I run an Energy Suspension trans mount on my car.
FYI, If you are feeling banging when you jump on it, it may actually be your exhaust hitting the bottom of the car. Which may be a sign of bad motor mounts as well. Might want to check them out too.

So what kind of things would I be hearing or happening with a bad trans mount?

The trans jumping up and hitting the tunnel. It will be a sharp thud under the center console. If you jack under the trans (carefully) it should not raise up. If it does, the mount is ripped. Do not install a poly unless you have poly or solid motor mounts.

A bad mount will make the car feel like it has bad u joints or tires that are out of balance at freeway speeds. Lots of vibration.

^^^Not necessarily. I had a bad one on an IROC and it was smooth as butter except when you hit it and the trans was jumping up and putting dents in the floorpan

Well, I gave the car throttle underload from underhood and whole engine twists to right side of car (motor mounts) So its worse than I thought. Should have dont motor mounts when I did headers. Probly should do motor mounts, trans mount, and torque arm mount/bushing now? Shoot

Start simple. Do motor mounts first.

So I decided to get a stock gm trans mount, and stock gm torque arm bushing to go along with the poly motor mounts. I wanted stock trans mount so it dosent mess with pinion angle hopefully (and other reasons that you know) and just so I know the T/A bushing is ok ill have it. Those poly engine mounts wont mess with angle of the trans?
