For that kindof power a Level 7 will be the way you will need to go. A Level 6 would handle the power but not as reliably as a Level 7 will.

I agree, with that kind of hp you have to build it as strong as it can be built.

I wanted to stay with the 4l60e for a direct plug play od tranny without having to buy anything else just slap it in and go. What kind of warranty is under yalls level 7? How long will it usually last under weekend street driving some weekdays and occasional drag strip use? With a good cooler of course.

I'm surprised they didn't try to switch you to a 4l80. Anything over 600 I'd seriously consider one.

You're already going to spend top dollar on a level 7. I'd get the 4l80 for the peace of mind. Yea it's more of a $$$ investment but at that level id rather spend more and know it'll handle anything I have to throw at it...

Hell there's a thread in this section asking about 850 and they recommend a 4l80. So if you ever plan on making more power...it shows you their opinion.

I'm jumping between all of them lol I wanted the 60e for ease of install. But was leaning towards a th400 to save money and cause I rarely drive my car and when I do I never take the highway cause I dnt have to go far. I just didn't want to hassle with piecing everything together. And the 80e would be more money and I would still be need other stuff to install. Any clue if any vendors on here sell a complete th400 conversion? Or even an 80e conversion?

If you don't drive the car much id go th400...

You'll spend less and with the money saved vs a 4L60/80 you can buy the conversion parts. That's probably the best bet. I personally couldn't live without OD. Or I'd buy a TH400

A Level 7 4L60e would be pretty expensive but you will have THE baddest 4L60e on the planet. And you wouldn't have to change your crossmember, driveshaft, trans lines or wiring. We have multipule customers going 9.0s@155-160mph in 3500lb street cars with our Level 7 transmissions. If you would like to go 4L80e or TH400 we offer full 4L80e and TH400 conversions. We can piece everything together no problem. I can do everything from the flexplate to the drive shaft and everything in between. Id be happy to put a few packages together for you.

We have customers with 2 years + on their Level 7 transmissions and they are still going strong. They are repeatedly beat at the drag strip on a regular basis along with daily driving. Our warranty is 90 days but once you have an RPM Transmission you have an RPM Transmission forever and we will always take care of you.

I have an RPM level 4..and when my 90 days warranty was up My driveshaft broke on the dyno and took out my tailshaft and input shaft...My shop called RPM thinking we would have to pay alot guess what ZERO to repair..

They took care of me..Now my shop is a dealer and only sells RPM due to their customer service

FLT Level 4 here in a 4000 lb GTO with 600+ rwhp. Not a regular at the strip but it gets run. Two years now and no problems. Andy is a pleasure to work with too.

If u really want it to live, treat it right.....when at 7krpm shifting into 3rd at wot, u have to know u only get to do that a few hundred times before u have to freshen it up. Be good to it and keep the fluid temps down and it will live given all the right parts. See my sig and notice no nitrous times posted, but properly done the 4l60-65e will handle 9.0 passes.
