it slips around 40mph, the rpm's rise and the car seems to not get in gear so I have to give it more gas that usual to get it to engage in gear

Sounds like it may just be coming out of lockup.

I agree. I don't see much lockup there. RPM seems all over the place when he plays with the pedal.

All i see is the normal bump in the rpm around 40mph which is when the 4l60e is designed to come out of lockup....oh yeah and someone begging to get a reckless driving ticket too.

it was on an open road on the highway so no really any issue, also what does it mean its coming out of lockup? is there any way to make this smooth? I know when I bought it didnt do this??

Mine was doing something verry similar to this and a filter and fluid change fixed it. I could barely give it enough gas to gain speed in od and the lockup would disengage. Now it takes almost enough to drop a gear to un lock the converter. So far, so good. Hot summer weather and no trans cooler may have something to do with it. If my suggestion fixes the problem a extra trans cooler wouldnt be a bad idea either...

Mine diesnt even run anymore. If i raise car on all four jackstands. And put in gear. The tirrs turn with progressive throttle. Some ppl have told me its the pump and others swesr its the tq converter. Trans is supposed to be built to handle serious hp and also has circle d tq converter. I bought car this way. The fluid looks new, no metal at all. almost. Also been told could be just clogged filter. Any ideas.
Op sorry for

the thing is that I do have a tranny cooler, it came with the car so the previous owner installed it, im thinking he did work to the tranny but im not certain, what else can I check one of my transmission line hoses blew and I had to replace most of the tranny oil I refilled it with 5 quarts, and my tranny is still the same so wondering if its something internal now??
