I went from 2.74 to 3.73 gears and probably only lost 1 mpg (A4). A4 or M6.

being an SS,you probably have 3.23s'.
guessing 3.23s' to 3.73s' will drop your mpg by 1.5,23 to about 21.5.
MPG is always 'right foot' and speed dependent.
with my OEM 3.23s',I got 24.5 on 7 trips to florida, with the 4.56s' for 4 identical trips I'm getting 21.5.

Lose about a MPG. Performance will be a tad better. Since your auto, 323-373 doesn't yield that much

On a normally aspirated gas engine peak fuel economy is achieved at peak torque.
Your fuel efficiency will go up, not down.
