Default Need trans cooler fittings for 4l60E

I need to replace the stupid clip-lock fittings on my 4l60e with regualr-old barb fittings. I just got my swap car together and it's pouring fluid on the ground from those OE fittings. I should have replaced them when the trans was out, but I let somebody talk me ito keeping them, and the stock lines. Well, to fix I'm going to need to pull the trans, so in the trash they will go! Can anybody help? Thanks!!

I know there are a few places that make AN adapter fittings. Why are the stockers leaking? Mine never did.

Yea thats strange. I unscrewed the fittings instead of taking the clips out when dropping my trans. Those things are to small I didnt wanna lose them. But it is strange they leaked for ya.

Ya, idk either. All I know is it leaks, and I do not have the patience to deal with these fittings. I'd much rather just use barb fitting and regular rubber hose and be done with it. Anybody knoow what the threads are, and where I can find appropriate barb fittings?

1/4" NPT or 1/4" NPS,standard 1/4"pipe thread,not sure if they're NPS-straight or NPT-taper

I also just thought of this, but what are the chances that my OE in-radiator cooler is plugged? If it were, would the pressure created cause the fittings at the trans to leak? How much pressure is normally running thru the lines?

don't know how much pressure (PSIG),but shouldn't be much.
that fitting referenced is 1/4" taper thread and being that it's a 45,could be risky in that getting the line-up you want, might have to tighten more than you should and the taper of the fitting might crack the aluminum thread boss of the trans case.

Thanks guys. McMaster has some 1/4" NPS barb fittings, I think I'm gonna do a straight barb, and a short run of hose, and a 90* brass fitting to make sure the hose doens't kink, and run that all the way to the front. Thanks!!

I think I might have figured out my problem. When the cooler lines come out of the cooler, they come straight out, then bend forward. Well, they come straight out of the trans too far, and are hitting the chassis on my swap car, and I think they got themselves tweaked in the fitting, and thats causing the leak. Does anybody know if I can buy that tubing straight without being bent? Does a dealer sell it by chance? If I can do that, I can bend it myself much, much closer to the fitting.

Also, is the side that fits into the radiator the same type/size fitting?

This, its a straight thread. Using a tapered thread is incorrect and could cause a cracked trans case.

The ones at the radiator are some kind of inverted flare fitting. I would take the lines out, inspect for damage and possibly replace the connectors on the trans. They are about $10 for the pair at local auto parts stores.
