My BMR 4L80e crossmember doesn't fit right
Kinda miffed about this, because I found two other threads about this exact issue from a few years ago, and apparently it's still a problem.
I have a 1993 4L80e that I am swapping into my 2002 Camaro. I bought the BMR 4L80e crossmember/tq arm relocation setup and can't install it because the cross member rubs on the rear passenger corner of the transmission case/pan area.
Here is another thread on it:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic...ossmember.html
Here is the part that rubs:
In the thread linked above, someone talks about notching theirs with a cutting wheel then re-welding the hole which I don't want to have to do considering it was a $250 piece of hardware. I guess I don't really know what else to do except contact BMR on Monday for advice, but thought I'd see if anyone else ran into this problem because I know a lot of you have swapped 4L80e's into your F-body's.

Bummer. I had to cut, reposition, and reweld the torque arm mount on my 4l80 cross member. (I can't recall for sure who made mine, but I know it wasn't the one shown in your pic.) Any chance it would clear if you could heat it and put a good dent in it there?
It sucks but that's the way it goes with many after market parts...

Yeah, I got right through when I called and spoke with someone very friendly and helpful. Guess I should have done that to begin with.
From what I gathered, they are aware that some out of spec ones made it out to the market and are offering replacements to anyone that got one. I don't imagine it was intentional, but hopefully I get my replacement soon because I can't really make further progress on my build until the transmission is secured in place.

Would there be a problem if I made the slots bigger on cross member to where it would slide back far enough from trans, I didn't think of any. Just wonder if anyone would know.
Thanks justin

I must got a older one then, bought it as a whole setup from a buddy, was going to cut slots in the way I need the cross member to slide on a mill. I will have pics to up date on how it works out, be Mon before I get a chance to do it.
