Does it shift hard into reverse also? It sounds like its defaulting to max pressure. Do you have a way of checking for transmission codes? Tech2 or anything?

Using a scantool check for any DTC's and also check that the sensors are showing correct values...

for example, a broken wire for the IAT sensor will cause maximum line pressure on some calibrations.

Same with my 99 z28 with shift kit. Someone told me it idles high at first so thats why it gives whiplash. They said after it warms up the engine will idle down some. So I now wait about a minute before I pull out. In New York I parked on a down hill so I would just be in neutral until I got to the end of the street. Then put it in drive and it was fine. I've been told not to worry.

no mine still does it after it idles down. car could be running for an hour and still do it. drive it about ten minutes, turn it off and its fine in warmer weather. when its cold it does it no matter how long the car has been running and if you turn it off. still does it

the same thing just started on my car, but starts after about 10 mins of driving. it feels likes it just throwing it self into all gears. if you turn it off, it goes away, but after 10 mins of driving it comes back.
