Problem with new rebuild and Circle D Converter
Just had my 4L60E rebuilt by a reputable local shop and had them install a Circle D 3000 converter. Ran fine for about 500 miles and was taking a Saturday cruise on the highway when all of a sudden the car threw a code. I pulled off the road to grab my predator to read the code, realized I didn't have it so tried to take off to head home.
When I went to pull onto the highway, the car needed a lot of revs to get going. At a stop on a hill, I practically have to mash the pedal to get going. Once I get going the car runs fine. It shifts smooth and I have all gears. Using the shifter to select gears works fine, but first still has the problem at a stop. Turning the car off then back on resolves the problem and the car runs okay from the first stop then the problem starts again.
I haven't had a chance to pull the code, but can anyone guess what is going on?
Thanks.

I got about 100 miles from home when this issue came up. If the transmission is going into limp mode is it safe to drive it back home or do I need to get a tow? I'll see if I can get to an autozone to get the code read.

So I ended up driving it back. The car came out of limp mode and I was able to drive normally as I had before without the 3rd gear starts. When I got home I pulled the code P0757 which is shift solenoid B stuck on. So it looks like you called it Chris
I'll have to give the shop a call tomorrow and have it brought in so they can take a look at it. Thanks for the help.

Not an expert by any means... I believe that code is common when you add a stall to a 2001/2 F-bod. I fought that demon code for months before we (a group of local f-bod guys back in 01/02) figured out what was causing the symptoms you described. The fix is to have the code turned off. There are some other tuning things that need to be done also, like turning the senisitivity down on the misfire detection, code P300, I think is the one.
The guy from Perfmabuilt has a good write up on here somewhere about what tuning issues need to be addressed when adding a stall.
Once your tuning (trans) issues are resolved you will love your car even more, lol.

This thread reminds me of battles we fought years ago that I haven't gotten into for a couple of years because of the other racing avenues I pursued.
In a word, yes a high stalling converter will indeed can and will cause a multitude of symptoms based on driving habits an the build itself. In my experience, some builders experience it more than others.
Have a quality Tuner deal with it before you burn up your transmission and your builder does not give any help.
