Default Hurst quarter stick install.. Any advice?

Traded on a quarter stick today and was just wondering if anyone had any advice for a good, clean installation?? Just curious about how much of the console will have to be cut on each side and also where to cut for the reverse lockout.. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My buddy and i put one in his camaro and had to cut alot out of the console like alot. Looked like ****. No matter how high or where i put it still had to take alot out of the console top,we ended up not using it.
My other friend has a pro rachiet with a stick console over it and works great and looks good. But that shifter dont have as long of a throw as your shifter.
I would go a 5-6 speed console top on it and be done.Thats your best bet so it dont look like ****

I went from a wratchet shifter to the quarter stick, I would never consider going back to a wratchet. Auto console tops are cheap, grab a couple and practice is my advice. Mine has a good deal of clearance but i was more worried about getting it done then looks, I'm sure I could tighten it up a bit with experience. The range of motion is the problem.

That doesn't look bad I dont think. I may give it a shot and if it doesn't suit me, I'll buy a 6 speed console. Any advice on running shift cable or mounting??

I have a b and m which only lets you shift one at a time. It really helps because the more squirrly the car is i use to shift from 1st to third on accident. Also i have it where it wont go into nuetral also looks better it is a pistol grip hydro dipped looks like black carbon fiber.

Have a 1/4 stick in mine, used 2-3in aluminum spacers to raise it. Didnt really cut the console much at all. I will try to get picture up of it
