Default Chirping 2nd gear with stock Trans

I have a 2000 Trans Am WS6 with 103k miles and an auto trans. My friends tell me that chirping second with a stock car isn't normal and they think maye my Trans is built or rebuilt. I bought the car with 87k miles on it and all that is done to it is corsa catback and it isn't tuned. Everything else is stock. Do u think my car has a built Trans?

My 98z28 chirped 2nd but only after it got a tune.
My current 01ss chirped 2nd but only after a tune.
I had my car re tuned by a better tuner and he told me why this was happening. Line pressure gets increased in the tune and make the wheels chirp. But its not good for it to have line pressure so high.
So I think its safe to say someone jacked up your line pressure through a tune. If I was you I would get it re tuned by a better tuner and get your line pressure back to normal.

i think he said its not tuned so doesn't sound like a tuning issue, sounds like your transmission has a problem if i'm reading what your asking properly, mine had the same thing on my stock 4l60e, i had to get 1st and 2nd gear rebuilt, also had a burnt out shift solenoid.
mine was rebuilt under used car warranty so they only did 1st and 2nd gear before finding out the shift solenoid was burnt out.

Has it being doing it since you bought it or only more recently?

if yours isn't under any warranty then good opportunity to get it built to support future mods.

my symptoms were chirping second gear and the trans was flaring before it would hit the limiter and chirp second.

Yea good question....How long has the car been doing this?
Still could be a tune because if he dosent even know if the trans is built then I find it hard to believe he really knows theres no tune on the car also.

My '98 TA chirps second at WOT. It has 89k on it and aside from a catback and lid, the drivetrain is stock. The previous owner was a woman in her 60's so it's doubtful it has ever had any tuning done to it. It has not been beat on either, trans works flawlessly, no slips, flaring etc.

There could be but many of my friends also have foodies and they have driven it and they say it isn't tuned. It has always done this since I bought it with 86k on it and it now has 103k, my friends also said my Trans is running strong which is weird because the Trans on these cars usually goes. So I thought maybe it could have been built.

Well a strong running stock engine can chirp second..that's a good thing especially with the stock 275 17 tires(you have 17 inch tires right?) but it may be your trans was rebuilt sometime in it's 87k miles, tuned, or both.

Oh ok, might be a built auto, mine did it at 3/4-wot, was ok when i got it back then had to go back about 6months later for the same issues, been fine since.
