I have a 2001 C5 with a 4l60E trans, my son jumped into my car and went for a joy ride and when he came back the car wouldn't start off in drive. I took the car to a dealership and had the fluid checked and they said I had metal in it and was in a hurry to sell me a new trans. The strang thing is I can start the car off in 1st gear and manual shift it all the way to 4th and drive the car any where but as soon as I come to a stop something pops and the car want take off again in drive and I have to pull it all the way back down to 1st and start over. The car pulls no codes or anything and I dont wanna speend $2200 when it could be a minor fix. The car also seems to have some type of electical glitch at times also because now my passenger side door lock and power window don't wanna work....ANY AND ALL HELP NEEDED PLEASE. I LIVE IN ALABAMA AND ALL THESE SHADE TREE TRANS SHOPS ARE SCARED TO DEATH TO TOUCH THE CAR AND DONT SEEM TO KNOW WHAT TO DO.

forward sprag

D or 3,the same,both start off in 1st.
D or 3,the forward sprag is engaged in starting from a stop
1st or 2nd,the overrunning clutches are used in starting from a stop
