Default Yank converter and synthetic trans. fluid.

What kind of tranny fluid is best? Is it ok to use mobil 1 or any other synthetic fluids with after market converters?

I prefer Red Line products, though I haven't changed my tranny fluid yet since my converter is sitting next to my bed.

i'll probably go with synthetic atf, synthetic D4 atf, racing atf, or high temp atf. Not sure which one yet. Maybe someone will chime in with some expierence and tell us which one we should go with.

I don't think the converter will mind what you use - it's your tranny that you have to worry about. FLP is one of the most respected tranny builders on this board, and they strictly recommend regular Dexron III.

Its been said over and over on here that synthetic atf will be too slippery and will lead to more slippage in these trannies. Some even use F type atf to improve shifts.

I've always used regular dextron III personally, no problems.

Mike Recommends Amsoil Powershift transfluid, I use the 10W version of it anf my only gripe about it is that it the smallest container it comes in is 5gallons.
