Default 4l60e

I've got a buddy with a 2002 SS Camaro with auto. He just purchased brand new GM 4L60E from local dealership and put a 3200 street fighter TCI stall in it. The car ran fine for about 200 miles , then started the current problem. It'll drive when first started for about 100 yards then go into a false nuetral. He'll have to turn car off and wait about 10 minutes , then restart and the car will run sbout another 100 yards, it will shift through all 4 gears smoothly until false nuetral shows up again. Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Did he get it tuned? Also, any CEL's? Try hooking it up to a scanner and clearing codes, and see if that helps.

he has a Hypertech power programmer on the car. It's not showing any codes until it goes into false nuetral. but once he restarts the car all codes are cleared.

last time I talked to him he pulled the tranny back out of the car. I didn't know if his problem was a common one or not. Thanks for the help though..

We havent had any problems like that. If you program back to stock and everything is ok, then you can call us and we will give you an rga to send it in so we can look at it. Make sure you have your part number and serial number with you when you call.
