This wont weaken the floor much especially if you have subframe connectors which you should should have on your car anyway.

You will also need to cut 1 1/2" off each side of the bell housing to gain header clearance with a sawzall or portable bandsaw.
I also used LS1 ARP Flex plate & Converter bolts so i dont have to worry about shearing off converter bolts when i bolt slicks onto the car.

Heres a link for some great 4l80e transmission -6 fittings for the swap from ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/6AN-4L80E-GM...3d2b69&vxp=mtr

And these to bring the trans lines forward towards your trans cooler.... http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...rentProductId=
Any pics of the 4"x4" clearance of the body brace for the electrical connector to fit?

My 4L80E conversion is from a 2008 2wd truck.

Thanks,
Mike

Sorry to Necro the thread, but why not keep all the info in one place.

So the pre-97 4L60 & 4L80 are better than 97+?

I think he's referring to the 80e only. I have a pre 97 and works great. Don't really need that top bolt hole anyway.

Bringing this thread back from the dead again,
Will I need a new input / output shaft ? Drive shaft?
Cross member needs to be changed right?
Is the wiring harness the only thing thats necessary to get it to shift? PCM reprogramming?
Is there anything else I would need besides what was listed before?

You'll need to change your driveshaft yoke and U-joint, but the stock driveshaft works fine.

Crossmember needs changed. Wiring harness will have to be altered a little bit.
PCM should be reprogrammed, although its not 100% necessary.
