can u slap shift a 4l80 transmission
I feel like a fool. I built a very high end 57' belair convert with a LS3 supercharger and 4l80 transmission. I used a shifter out of a 2004 Cadillac SRX.
I was told it would work and he also told I would be able to slap shift it.
I just found out that this is not the case. Now I have a important decision to make. Either scrap the shifter and put a aftermaket shifter in the car. The problem lies in that the interior is complete and I would have to do major work to the center console.
Anybody have any sugestion on what I could do....

What is your application and priority?
If its at the drag strip, letting a computer controlled trans shift by itself will always give you better and more consistent times.

We use an external full manual box real simple, you do not need to drop the pan. Run 12 volts to red wire, of course. Once you ground the brown wire it will activate lockup.
You can call us and talk to a live person. Up until 10 PM Eastern standard time , Monday through Sunday.

It all depends on what controller you are using for the transmission. How are you controlling the transmission?

Rossler has a "Little Black Box" that I assume works off the same principle, and Art Carr (in Abilene) made something similar before they went out of business.
The manual control box is one of the few parts I sell to the public anymore.
