Default 4400 stall question

i am thinking about buying a 02 z28. it was bolt ons and this yank 4400 stall. that seems pretty high to me. i want to do a cam later on but it may be awhile. should i buy it and keep the stall or change it over to a 3600 or something like that?

What is the rear gear? If stock 2.73 it will be loose. Have you driven it? It's all personal preference. I have a SS3600 and it's TIGHT.

if you buy it, maybe you should try it out first before changing anything.

drivability should be good. i street drove on a 5500 and it was fine. i did put a 3000 in it later and it street drove even better but trapped slower in the 1/4 mile.

I drive my car with a 4k stall stock long block ls1 with 3.23 gears and I wouldn't go any smaller its a little loose under 45mph but when cruising over that it locks right up and cruises 70mph @2000 rpm...keep with 4400 and see how it does I think u will like it once u get the hang of it
