Default T-56 to 4L60 question

What flywheel does everyone go with?

Not sure what all you need to know about the car or specs to answer my question.

Also what would be the deciding factor on getting a triple disc converter or not?

Thanks

I assume you are running a mostly stock engine, e.g. under 500HP.
I assume you are installing a '98 or later 4L60E with 300mm input shaft.
Please confirm these assumptions.

While there are inexpensive stock-style flexplates available for $80, the TCI flexplate ($250) is a nice upgrade that many members have. I believe this is TCI part #399753.

A triple-disk converter lets you engage the lockup clutch (TCC) at WOT, which depending upon stall speed, engine cam and tuning, might improve your ET and likely will improve your trap speed. The real only downside is the $1000+ cost.

It's a forged 347. About 475hp but nitrous is in the future. And yes that's correct on the trans getting one from FLT. Ok so get a TCI flexplate.

Plan on a 3600-3800 stall. And I have a TREX cam 242/248 608/612 110

So if it's mainly a street car and I don't go to the track that often a triple disc is kinda pointless?

There are plenty of threads here about cracked and broken stamped-steel (stock or stock-like) flexplates. And lots of very satisfied users of the much stronger TCI flexplate.

I can't answer your question about the usefulness of a triple disk converter, although I plan to try one soon. But then I try everything.
