Advice on what? 4L80E's are really good unit's, Came factory behind 6.0L V12 Jaguars. If you run the Jag Fuel Injection & Transmission control module it will work.

sososs: Welcome to ls1tech! While you certainly have an usual project, we are up for anything. However, you will need to ask more specific questions.
You might search the forum for things like "Swap 4L60E to 4l80E", "Swap T56 to 4L80E" or "Swap 4L80E" for many threads with many details about the 4L80E.
(On the forum, use the advanced search and limit your search to the "Automatic transmission" forum so that you don't get hits in other areas such as "For sale".)

I'm not sure that "V12" and "buggy" should ever be used in the same sentence.

As far as I searched, most are saying to do a manual valve body conversion or to make a standalone controller.

I don't know exactly what that means

thanks

There is a box you can buy from jake for 200 to manual shift a 4l80 . Or you can get a standalone trans controller about $600

this one ? http://www.jakesperformance.com/4L80E_Components.html

If you install this, the computer is no longer needed ?

Also shifting is like manual, you have to change every gear ? or if you put it in D for instance will change automatically ?

thanks

Either a manual valve body or Jake's box will give you a manual trans - you have to perform all shifts. If you want it to change automatically you need a standalone trans controller or figure out how to connect it to the Jaguar OEM computer as clinebarger pointed out.

If you make it manual, what will happen when you put it in D?

Will stay just in one gear?

I assume you would be in 4th gear.

The 4L80E cannot perform any shifting by itself. All shifting is performed by the two shift solenoids which are controlled by a computer or simple "box". Two shift solenoids give you 4 combinations, corresponding to 4 gears.

How will you drive it then?

On right side is N, R, D and on left is 2 and 3.

The shifter needs to be changed also?

Tks

You need the box from jake or if you want automatic shifts with the ability to change shift points , set up a speedo and a host of other things you will need something like the us shift
Controller. You can also get this from jake.
You will also need a 4speed shifter like the b&m quicksilver. Basicly any 4 speed shifter will work
