Just depends if the guy has good trader feedback. Ask him why he took it out

I wouldnt you dont normally buy a 4k stall to daily. So 15k that thing has seen some track time thats for sure.

this isn't my daily driver only a weekend toy but I don't want to waste my money with buying used if it could have issues.

If it's the RIGHT price and he's reputable I'd say go for it.

its always a crap shoot. it could have crud inside of it that can mess up your trans or other mechanical issues. If you got it cheap enough that you could send it back for a cut and clean, that would work.

I have a used yank 3600. No issues at all. $400 seem about right.

Cheap as in what price lol do you know off hand how much it is to send to yank to have them service it... I agree it seems like a gamble .... but I'm debating on offering 300 including shipping I just wanted everyone's input I don't want to waste money

I got a yank 3600 in the classifieds here for 425.00. Looked and runs perfect. I did buy one here before this one. A cheep one non billet. When I got it it smelled burnt with clutch fibers in the oil residue. Decided to get rid of that one cheep. Still no complaints from the buyer. Just check it out before you run it through your nice trans!

that's a really nice deal for a very well respected/popular convertor on here provided it is good. It is known to act tight under low load so it gets used as a daily convertor more than you would think , its the cheap brands that are loose and sloppy on a 4k stall that people hate dd'ing.

Yep.

It's all about the cost/benefit analysis you attach to this.

If the extra $300 ain't gonna hurt ya.....AND.....you have a high enough aversion to possibly having to pull the tranny a second time, then it may be best for you to buy a new one.

That said....a Yank SS4000 with 15K miles for $400 is an awfully good deal if it didn't come out of a broken tranny.

I would never buy a used stall (especially one that was raced) without being able to send it back to the company for a refresh. I bought my 4000 stall for $100 bucks locally then sent it back to Circle D for a refresh for around $250.

Anything bought thru the mail out of town figure your stuck with it.
It may not be the right conv. for you, why not add a little and get the right thing, and peace of mind it isn't broke
