Default Yank vs. Circle D Billet Converters

Help me decide. I've narrowed my search down to (2) billet lock up converters. Here are the specs.

$870 Yank SS 3200. 9.5" diameter billet single clutch. 34 lbs

$900 Circle D 3200 245mm Pro 1. 9.75" diameter billet single clutch. 37 lbs?

I called Circle D 3 times today but no answer. I am leaning towards Yank.
Looking for opinions only from those that have run these in their car. This is a street driven car with very limited track duty.

Thank you

I have the yank but their ss3600, and for a mostly street driven car I like it. I have 3.73's so it feels tight. Either way, you'll be happy with the converters you are looking at. What gears do you have?

Both are very popular... i have no experience with yank, but i currently have a circle D converter.

This is actually my second converter from circle D. I was running a vigilante 3200. Both of my converters are circle D 5c which is a 4000 stall.

I would highly suggest circle D. The quality of the converter is amazing. Hell, the packaging is amazing.

I would also suggest stepping up to a bigger stall. Try calling circle D..go with circle d. You wont be disappointed

Circle D's shop was hit with a flood they are cleaning up according to there fb page. I went with circle d but don't think either is a bad choice.

To OP,I agree that 3200 might be too small but it's difficult to assess without knowing details of your car.

I have a Yank SS4000 in my SS. Can't go wrong with the Yank as it hits hard at the track, but isn't bad on the street once it locks up.

Thanks for all the responses. The engine is a 2009 L92 6.2L with a Texas Speed VVT 1 cam kit, headers and tune. Based on TSP dyno curves, the RWHP should be around 450. According to Texas Speed, a stall converter isn't required due to the low end provided by VVT cam. Here are some more specifics on the car:

1986 Olds 442
Weight: 3650
Drag Radials
Tire hieght: 26"
Rear gear: 3.73
Transmission: 4L80E

If the car runs high 11's I will be happy.

a cammed 6.2 with convertor , bolt ons , and 373's should very easily run top 11's in a 3600# car as long as its finding traction , optimized low/mid 11's sounds more like it

I bought a Yank PT3800 triple for my 4l80e swap and currently rocking a 3200 Circle D with the 60e which I've been very happy with. Honestly out of Circle D, Yank, or FTI as well, I'd just go with whatever is the cheapest that day. They all rock and have great customer service.

I am running the Yank SS3600 as well... I have ran this converter in my last 3 A4 Fbod's. I have no experience with Circle D but I know of their reputation and the quality of their converters. You cannot go wrong with either...

Apologize for the no answer....had about an inch of water in the shop yesterday. And I guess lightning took out our router and no IP phones today. Shoot me a message and we would be happy to help. Phones should be back up in a hour or 2.
