what do you want to know- I've been running this trans in my 98ss for 1.5 years now- not a lick of problems with it and plenty of 10sec slips. I had no problems fitting it in the tunnel, I have a transgo manual valve body in it, a custom tcs stall, custom x-member for the tranny, a b&m pro ratchet for a shifter(fits perfect in an a4 center section), the only electrical connection on it is a 12 volt wire to lockup the conv. I use a stock aluminum driveshaft with a th400 yoke and a conversion joint on the end to my 12 bolt moser. I'm putting the car hopefully so the 4l80e conversion is up f.s.
hope that helps answer any question.

If you have any installed pics I would be glad to host them in the future when we start to put up photo galleries for special modifications.
Now couldnt' you have gone with a automatic valve body and then it would have shifted itself in gear? And then you could have shifted it manually for racing and wound out the gears?

my girls have the camera with them at the beach- I don't know if you could use the factory computer- I don't know how it would interface since the 80e uses an input and output speed sensor- they make standalone computers for the 80e but they are 1k I believe- the full manual was the way for me to try it out since I was the pioneer on this conversion.it worked flawless for me and would recommend it if anyone wanted overdrive and a great working trans- the 60e doesn't seem to be working for alot of people and the3-5 k trans are just out of range for alot of people that don't want to gamble on a trans

Ok So the manuel valve body would get you in over drive then you had the switch to lock it up correct? And what kind of valve body did you get? (what brand) And is there anything abou the setup that you did not like that you would have done diffrent if you had to do it again?

Sept '04 Super Chebby mag has an article about
swapping 60-80 in trucks, there's a little adapter
harness they used and (according to the article)
it was pretty straightforward; harness, driveshaft
shorten & yoke swap, and they had to fab up (or
at least cobble on the stock) crossmember. But
they used a Hughes Performance 4L80E with a
vacuum modulated setup so I think the PCM was
kinda out of the picture, except for the speed
sensor and up/downshift commands. Dunno about
if you wanted the PCM to control line pressure
and TCC modulation, how that would work out
(though I can't say I like the way it does the job
on the 4L60, especially, and maybe vacuum is
the better way to go).
