Jiffy Lube killed my trans?
I usually do all my own maintence, except for the transmission, I took my car to Jiffy lube for their t-tech flush last week, about 4 days after that I changed the oil in the motor and checked the trans fluid just a habit, it was overfull .Went back and they drained about 3/4 to 1 quart out of it via the cooler lines. I really didn't notice it until yesterday but the trans seems to wait about 2-3 seconds before it shift from 2 to1st at wot. It was never that slow to shift. The car is mostly stock no cam, no aftermarket converter just hpp3 set at +3 mph shift points and 100% firmness, all other gears are ok, shifts are firm under wot, just slow for the 2-1. I did a seach and there is nothing that pertains to my exact problems, on this board or over at camaroz28.com. Any thoughts? I have 44,678 miles on the car now, I had Jiffy lube do the same service with a pan gasket/filter change at 23000 miles with no problem. Think Jiffy lube may owe me a trans?...Sorry this is so long

Did you change the firmness with the Hpp? I have heard that will end up ruining your tranny. I had a 96 TA and everyone told me not to mess with the Firmness setting unless I had a shift kit in my tranny.

For the record, the 4L60E can't be overfilled.
There's a vent tube that excess fluid will be pushed out of once the tranny comes up to temp and the fluid expands. Mine's clipped to my torque arm, came that way from the factory.
I probably wouldn't mention that to the JiffyLube though...
Changing the line pressure with HPP3 won't hurt anything, as long as it's not done in conjunction with raising the line pressure mechanically (like with a shift kit).
Good luck getting it figured out.

Thanks for the replies, it acted alittle better today. I am wondering if the flush kinda mixed some sediment or particles around or something, bought her a whole tank of 101 octane and went for a long drive, some highspeed and some low speed for 20 to 30 minutes at a time, got a home and checked everything nothing out of place or strange. Sometimes f-bodies act goofy, but if you show them some love they snap right back...until the next time!Sounds like a woman don't it?

Those trans flush machines are designed to replace exactly what is flushed out. If your fluid was correct when you went there, it will be correct when they have done the flush. I have done mine twice. Works great. It is the only way to do a complete flush.

power flushing a tranny is only good if you've been changing the fluid religiously. otherwise, just change the fluid/filter. in a high mileage car tranny that never had the fluid changed, some of that build crud is what's keeping the worn out crevices filled and friction together. you flush it out and it'll start slipping.
