buying a used VIG?
how can i tell the stall speed from looking at a Vig converter. I am fixing to buy a stall and have access to a used "3,600 VIG" i just want to make sure that is what i am buying. also do you guys think that a 3,600 vig is to much for a daily driven car with only headers/ duals, lid/ filter, ported TB?
any advice on buying a used converter? this one has under 1,000miles on it for 500$ the paint is still fresh looking(purple), i read some were that they change color when they are burned up, true?

Yenko, the "right" TC is a hard question, particularly installing it on a daily driver. Some folks will say a 4000 stall isn't big enough!!
IMHO, 2800 - 3600 stalls are about right for daily drivers. When you start getting to 3800 and above, your talking about street warrior / racing applications.
Just a thought: why not call Precision Industries (who makes Vigilante) or Yank and talk to their tech support gurus? I've talked to both and they are MORE than willing to discuss your application requirements and WILL NOT try to sell you anything.
Hope this helps!

Armyvette, I have decided to go with a 3,200Vig. I found one new in the box shipped for 600$.
i decided to buy a new converter because I have blown up the transmission in every car i have ever owned,( 1x in my '70 C-10 pickup, 4x in the regal) and i would prefer to not do it again in the camaro. so im taking every precaution this time.
