Default Looking to buy a converter for my A4. Help me!

I have a 2k2 WS6. I must admit that my car is almost stock with 21k miles and just minor mods. I want to buy a torque converter for this daily driver. I want to be able to feel a difference in my acceleration and get my moneys worth. I am going to got nearby. Can you guys recommend me a good converter?
Thanks

Really depends on what you want to do to the car.

http://www.converter.cc/converter_choice_guide.htm is a guide that will help you get started. What you are asking is really and opinion. I personally can street anything. Remember, just cause its a 4000 stall doesnt mean that it will rev to 4k every time you take off from a light. It means it will start moving the car about 1500 and start really moving the car to normal speed about 2000-2200. The STR of a stall plays a big factor in this. You should do a search as there is plenty of info on this.

What are your future plans for the car? Nitrous? FI?

When my car was basically stock I was running a 3200 and it was great. Then I went to a 3600 stall with my current setup, pretty happy with the higher stall. (when I had trans problems, we put the 3200 back in and it was WAY too tight for as much HP as I was making)

Now that I am going big cubes, TH400 next year I am going with a 4000 stall

Keep in mind you will WANT a shift kit, trans cooler and TM deleted with a TC install

Your choice will depend on how you prioritize around-town driveability vs. maximum acceleration. Freeway driving will be pretty much unaffected, as it done under lock-up. If around town driveability is important to you, the TCI SF3000, Vig 2800, and Yank SS3600 seem to be great choices. For more all-out performance, start looking at 3500 stalls on up from any of those companies. And be prepared to drive full-time on drag radials.

I agree with above, except no shift kit, IMHO.

I love my TCI SSF3500. IMHO I wouldn't go any lower than a 3500. Had it on the car with just bolt ons and it was great then, still great now. Good luck!!!
