Well, heat related problems in older transmissions as yours usually indicate hardened rubber clutch piston seals. Hard seals will cause clutches to leak. Sounds like it needs a good rebuild. How many miles on the trans???

Default help me to understand

Hey did you have this problem before you changed the filter? Also check your fluid before you start the car,is the fliud way up on the stick???When its full is it right on the full line? After checking the above dump a couple quarts over full and see if that changes anything....This transmission likes to be overfull ...Hope this helps...Dave

Default hey

I'd agree with transman than...sometimes when the filter is changed you'll have it sucking air for one reason or another...in this case the problem was before the change..the time to change your fliud is before you start having transmission problems...just a though...hope this helps ..Dave
