Default Stock TC Bolt Removal

Im in the middle of an A4-M6 swap and I got stuck on trying to break loose the TC allen head bolts. I am pretty sure I am using the correct size allen socket (8mm), but I amalmost putting all my body weight into breaking them loose, causing them to start to round the hex heads. Anything I am doing wrong here? BTW, its a '00 SS w/7500 miles.

I'm not trying to be a smartass or anything... but are you absolutely sure your turning the bolts the right way? Mine were easy as hell to remove.

I am positive I am trying to loosen them by turning the bolts counter clockwise, unless they are left-hand threaded. Even used WD-40 before I started to loosen them. ANy other suggestions? Just need to get those bolts out so I can remove the bellhousing bolts and then its out

Are you holding the flexplate?
I removed some and relyed on the socket to allen adapter to rest on the oil pan and stop the flexplate from turning. But if you get a real tight one it'll try to turn the flexplate and the allen driver will want to come out sideways, stripping it.
You have to hold the flexplate.

Last one I did I tried with a 1/2 drive Matco impact and 150 psi driving it.
It didn't move.
I had to use a 3" breaker bar on it.
Stripping the allen head might be another issue though. I thought this one was going to strip but it didn't.

Just keep trying, if it rounds you'll have to cut it off with a air chisel or something. Its a pain man! One of mine rounded off and I had to do that. They're tight as hell and have locktite on them too. Good Luck!

Mine was, on a stock 4L80E.
I had to tap the allen socket in there too to be sure it wasn't sliding out and starting to strip.

I used a Matco 8mm impact socket/allen driver or whatever it's called.

Thx for the help everyone......finally got those bastards out. I had to tap the allen socket in with a hammer to make sure they bottomed out before attempting again. Once I figured that out it was smooth sailing.
