M6 louder than A4?

Yeah, in an auto the RPMs stay kind of steady a lot and may drone at times. In an M6, they're constantly going up through the gears as they're shifting.
However, if you have an A4 with a stall, you might think it's the other way around, seeing as the revs will go much higher simply pulling away from stops and such.

The Firehawk was louder than my WS6 for awhile there. It was due to the Firehawk being an M6, and being higher up in the RPM's more often. The WS6 was an automatic and was usually lower in the RPM range. Now that the WS6 has a convertor...she's the louder one...

I disagree to a point. At cruise in 6th gear and M6 is usually much lower in the RPMs than an A4 is, even if it's a 2.73 geared A4 car, so at cruise the A4 should be louder. During acceleration, without a stall, it all depends on how the M6 driving is driving (how high he's revving before shifting to the next gear). A high stalled A4 or a crazy M6 driver is about the loudest thing you're going to find, all things else being equal.
