Default Won't move until 3,000 rpms

I took the car out last night for a drive, first time I took the car out since I put in my new walbro 255 fuel pump. Everytime I hit the gas to go WOT the car would launch me back into my seat but then not go anywhere. The fuel pumps was making a loud humming noise, so I tought something must be up and I must not be getting the correct amount of fuel pressure, But as I was headed back home, and I noticed that when I was at a street light and then it turned green that the car would not move until about 3,000- 3,500 rpms, what do you think it may be. I just had the new stage 3 4L60E put in on April and my convertor, was sent out, cut opened, flushed, and resealed before they put it in the new trans.

Mine did this when I was way low on juice (a bad
cork pan gasket let go). Check the fluid level?

thats what i was going to say, check the level... You will really notice it if you make a turn and try to give it gas. If its low you wont go anywhere.

Is it shifting? Could be an electrical connection to the trans, that will stick it in a default "limp mode" where you will only have 3rd and reverse. If the car is trying to start out in 3rd the converter will silp up a LOT before the car moves. It's not that uncommon to loosen up a pin on the 20 pin connector when swapping trannies in and out.

The car does shift, and I checked the fluids and the fluids were at the correct level. Just another pain in the *** thing

sounds like the converter is the problem or tranny, i doubt it has to do with the new fuel pump, just ironic that it would happen at that time.

Damn this pisses me off, just had a new trans done in April and the convertor reworked, Has anyone had this problem before. Or is it just my luck. And another thing does anyone know if the walbro 255 fuel pump is suppose to whine like that or not?

The 3500 converter should start to push before 2000RPM
though it'll be soft.

Walbro are notorious for whining. At least, a lot of people
mention it, dunno if it's all or just some units.

Maybe you should slide on by the transmission shop (?)
and have them put a line gauge on the trans, so you
can see if it's pressure (pump, pickup, seals) related -
if line comes up right when the cae starts to move, etc.

OMG I'm having the same Problem help....

heres the deal.................... I was racing and ran up to right around 100 got off it hit the brakes and turned back... when i turned back and got on it I think it shifted 1-2 but on 2-3 or 3-4 I suddenly loss power... well power was tehre it just wasn't making it to the wheels. I ran it up to 3k and I can get some movement but it's like 1-3 mph... obviously at a stop 3k= spinning tires...

As far as I knwo it's all stock... no noises.... goes into gears just find it's just not going anywhere.

WHERE DO I START? WHAT IS WRONG? I'm not scared to pull it but it helps knowing what might be wrong..

I've raced tons this year and not a problem adn then all of a sudden nothing...

I had this happen to me less than 6 months after my FIRST re-build, car wouldn't move to 3000rpms, had to re-build it again because It fried the sprag, so you could be in for some transmission work soon.
