Default Is this normal? / Look OK?

Dropped the trans pan today. I don't remember seeing this last time I had it down. The fluid has about 25k miles on it and it does not smell burnt. I've had no problems with the trans.
The black stuff is a really fine powder.
I'm guessing it's normal and I'm being paranoid, but let me know please.

Thanks,
Craig

is that second pic stuff scraped off the bottom? how does the filter look?

could the filter have possibly dropped out and down and burned to the pan?

Filter looks good, and in where it's supposed to be.
Yes, the stuff on my finger was wiped out of the pan.

that looks like clutch dust. that is pretty normal for a trans getting run hard. just keep it clean when you go back together. mine usually is the same way but I changed mine to royal purple fluid and it hasent seemed to be so bad but I change it about every 20K

That's what I was thinking. I cleaned it out, and when I get my verter back I'm just gonna put it all back as is. I'm not expecting it to live forever anyway.

well since I found a guy here local that can build a tranny right this is the longest lasting 1 I have had. the 1 before lasted 2 DAYS and turned the clutches and the steels black but I would recomend the RP fluid it is high but well worth it in my book. I got this thing so hot 1 time it turned the fluid brown and let it cool back down and run the same times as before it got hot and is still running and that was 5 months a go, of daily dring and every weekend beatings.

It's normal. Every time I drop a pan on any of my automatics, the dust is there. One way to keep it out of the pan is to install an in-line magnetic filter. This will trap a lot of it & keep it out of the pan. Change fluid every 20K or so & use a cooler.
